We bought, and later enjoyed, your Dad's book at the Woody Guthrie festival. A neighbor of ours is from Sallisaw, so we lent it to her. I thought you might like to read her thank you note.

"It's unbelievable that we lived across the road from the McDonald house, when I was a little kid and you came up with a book about it! There were just two houses on McDonald Hill (as it is called). Both had hundreds of acres and what an ideal place to raise bunches of kids!

"The McDonald house burned years ago, but the one we lived in is still maintained and lived in. My sister and I make special trips by it at times and talk about special memories. It is just 1-1/2 miles from Sallisaw.

"Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness in thinking about me.

"I plan on ordering the book and my sister suggested I order one for the Sallisaw Library. The McDonald family that still live in Sallisaw is very well thought of and known.
